Our History

Interconnecting Circles and Communities was founded in 2023 in Charlotte, NC by Ronald Wherry.  Ronald is an Air Force veteran and also has more than a decade of experience as a defense contractor for the federal government. During his career, he spent nearly eight years working in hazardous combat zones such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Supporting warfighters in any capacity was a source of pride and purpose for Ronald throughout his military and contracting career.

Upon returning from Iraq in 2020 as a contractor, Ronald faced significant challenges in readjusting and transitioning to civilian life. During his time volunteering with the American Legion as Second Vice Commander, he observed that many other veterans and federal contractors experienced similar struggles. These challenges inspired Ronald to form an organization to support and be a resource hub for veterans and  both injured US citizens and foreign nationals employees working on US Military Bases or public works projects funded by the US government outside the United States.

By forging relationships with medical providers, mortgage lenders, housing and job agencies agencies and more, Ronald has built a network that has grown to a comprehensive resource for veterans and injured civilians working for the U.S. government outside of the country.  This model formed the foundation of Interconnecting Circles and Communities.

Empowering veterans and injured civilians working for the U.S. abroad to access the tools and support they need to thrive is our mandate.  Our mission is in our name.

Welcome to Interconnecting Circles and Communities. As Executive Director of Client Relations, it is a pleasure to work to help better the lives of United States’ veterans, injured military contractors, and disabled federal contract workers. Ensuring that veterans across America are connected to doctors, attorneys and resources that help get them the necessary support is […]

Success Stories

After working with the Interconnecting Circles team, we learned that I met the criteria for a higher VA rating.

After thirteen and a half years in the Air Force, I was medically retired and I received an 80% rating. I thought the reassessment process would be long and daunting, so for nearly 10 years I just accepted the rating I was given. After retirement, my family moved from California to Arkansas. We lost a great portion of our annual income as a result. After working with the Interconnecting Circles network, we learned that I met the criteria for a higher VA rating. With the higher VA rating, we were able to supplement our income loss. I made my first contact with Interconnecting Circles mid-April 2023 and had my new rating by mid-July 2023. It can’t get any better!

For nearly 15 years, I went without receiving disability benefits. After working with Interconnecting Circles for five months, I received 70 percent disability; and, within two years, I was at a 100 percent disability rating. The membership consultants at Interconnecting Circles really know their stuff.

I would highly recommend veterans join Interconnecting Circles. Their network provides dedicated assistance, comprehensive support, and commitment to educating individuals, making them a valuable resource for navigating various challenges, especially in areas such as disability benefits and overall well-being.
